It is incredibly difficult to read:
The largest case of animal cruelty in the U.S. was found right in our backyard, in Loxahatchee.
Horses, goats, pigs, cows and other animals were systematically tortured and brutally killed for meat, animal sacrifices, and other black market items. The ones found alive - including dogs in a "puppy mill" - were found in nightmarish conditions.
Authorities said undercover investigators witnessed and captured footage of the owner and his employees "selling large amounts of horse meat" and committing an array of violent abuses to other animals.
The Animal Rescue Mission deserves thanks for their work to stop the slaughter and hold these truly evil men accountable. More info on the bust can be found on the first story of my Facebook page, here: https://www.facebook.com/melissamckinlaycampaign. (Note that it's a very graphic description.)
In Congress - more can be done to stop animal cruelty - and if we can increase penalties for the awful crimes like those committed above and/or direct additional resources to animal protection - we should.
